PACTE Research Centre

Founded in 1948, Sciences Po Grenoble is one of the nine Institutes of Political Studies in France placed under the aegis of the National Foundation of Political Science (FNSP). Sciences Po Grenoble occupies a prominent place in research in the political, administrative and social sciences through its three research centres, which are administrated jointly with the Université Grenoble Alpes and the CNRS (National Centre for Scientific Research). PACTE Research Centre is one of the largest French research units in social sciences, and is home to nearly 250 researchers.


Sabine Saurugger

About

Sabine Saurugger is Professor and Research Dean at Sciences Po Grenoble. Her research concentrates on interest groups, theories of European integration, European public policies and the politics of law. She has published a number of books and journal articles, including Theoretical Approaches to European Integration (Palgrave McMillan, 2013), Crisis and Institutional Change in Regional Integration (co-ed with Fabien Terpan) (Routledge, 2016) and The Court of Justice and the Politics of Law, (with F. Terpan) (Palgrave Macmillan, 2017). She serves as a member of the editorial boards of Journal of Comparative Policy Analysis, Interest Groups and Advocacy and Revue française de science politique. Saurugger is one of the 12 members of the ECPR Executive Committee (2018-2024). 


Fabien Terpan

Associate Professor of Public Law and European Politics

Fabien Terpan is Associate Professor and Jean Monnet Chair in EU law and politics at Sciences Po Grenoble, as well as the Deputy Director of CESICE (Centre for the study of International Security and European Cooperation), a joint Sciences Po Grenoble/University of Grenoble  research centre. His fields of expertise include EU external action and EU law. His works include ‘Soft Law in the European Union’ (European Law Journal, 2015), ‘Financing CSDP Operations (European Security, 2015) and ‘Do Crises lead to policy Change? The Multiple Streams Framework and the European Union’s Economic Governance Instruments’ (with S. Saurugger) (Policy Sciences, 2016).
