Student debate: The Green Recovery and Energy Transition in the context of the Future of Europe

On 5 May 2022, the Jagiellonian University in Kraków hosted a student event within EU3D project to discuss the green recovery and energy transition in the context of the future of Europe.

Nicolas Berghmans from Institut du développement durable et des relations internationales (IDDRI), France, Patryk Białas from Kongres Ruchów Miejskich, Poland, and Tadeusz Rudek from the Institute of Sociology, Jagiellonian University participated in this joint event organised by the Institute of European Studies in cooperation with the French Embassy in Poland.

The three experts discussed the significance of the green transformation, the models of just transition, as well as how differentiation features in pressing issues of green recovery and energy transition. The debate was part of events organised in the framework of the French Presidency of the Council of the EU and dealt with ecological transition and advancement on combating climate change, which are key priorities for the EU. More than 60 students took part in the event and engaged in heated debate on such important issues.
