DiCE kick off in Florence
ARENA participated in a kick off meeting of the project DiCE Differentiation: Clustering Excellence in Florence on 24 February 2020.
Participants from the DiCE partners met at the European University Institute in February 2020 to discuss future project activities. The project, which started on 1 January 2020, will over the next three years engage in a range of activities, including building a large network, organising a networking conference, scenario marathons, and study trips, creating a differentiation manual and portal, and conducting expert surveys.
ARENA's John Erik Fossum also held a public lecture on Brexit and the Norway model at the conference.
DiCE is a Coordination and Support Action (CSA) that brings together the three successful projects funded by the EU’s 2018-2019 governance call on Past, present and future of differentiation in European governance.
The project is composed of the three coordinators of the sister projects Integrating Diversity in the European Union (InDivEU), EU Integration and Differentiation for Effectiveness and Accountability (EU IDEA) and EU Differentiation, Dominance and Democracy (EU3D). These projects collectively constitute an unparalleled network of scholars on differentiation.
In addition to the three coordinating institutions EUI, IAI and ARENA, the DiCE consortium includes TEPSA and the University of Exeter.
DiCE is funded for the period 1.1.2020-31.12.2022
ARENA Centre for European Studies and EU3D is a part of the project consortium and will be responsible for the project's website as well as creating a differentiation manual and portal.
