In this joint event organized by EU3D and the University of Konstanz' BA seminar 'The European Union in the Corona Crisis', Ralf Drachenberg, Policy Analyst in the European Parliament, shared some of his insights on the Conference on the Future of Europe with approximately 25 students. Issues discussed related to the structure and the topics of the Conference and whether it will have an impact on shaping the EU's future. The Conference on the Future of Europe was compared to the earlier used Convention method. Moreover, we inquired about the timing of the Conference and the role of power of national governments, the Commission, the European Parliament and 'normal citizens'. Students were encouraged to contribute to the public debate and voice their ideas about the EU and its future development.
